CATALYST

Open-source ERP for research labs, universities, and operations teams. One codebase, many ERPs — built in the open, deployed by Ravikiran today, and backing MIT new University tomorrow.

The big idea three ERPs, one codebase

CATALYST runs as three logical ERPs from a single codebase — Lab, Operations, Compute — each with its own module bundle, its own data, its own URL. Improvements to a module ship once and propagate to every variant on the next deploy. Adding a fourth ERP (a university) is a config change, not a fork.

Lab ERP

Shared instrumentation, sample requests, approval chains, grant-linked finance.

For research facilities, instrumentation labs.

Operations ERP

Staff, vehicles, receipts, payroll, task coordination, mess.

For service businesses, hospitality, residential operations.

Compute ERP

HPC queue, notifications, admin for a compute cluster.

For computing facilities, HPC clusters.
